1. Who We Are
Hoscle ("Hoscle", "we", "us", "our") is a mobile app that helps hosts of short-term rentals and other properties schedule cleanings, share checklists, receive photo proof of finished work, record cleaner payments, reward cleaners with points and chat with their cleaners. Hoscle is operated by INVOVANE COMPANY.
Registered Address: 489 Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila, Philippines
Email: support@hoscle.com
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the Hoscle Android app and the website hoscle.com.
INVOVANE COMPANY is the personal information controller. We process personal information in accordance with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and the issuances of the National Privacy Commission, and with other data protection laws that apply to you.
Hoscle has two kinds of users:
- Hosts: people who manage properties and schedule cleanings. Hosts may subscribe to a paid plan.
- Cleaners: people who clean for hosts. Cleaners always use Hoscle for free.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information from your Google account
Hoscle uses Google Sign-In only. When you sign in, we receive your name, email address, profile photo and Google account ID. We never receive your Google password.
2.2 Profile information
- Your role (Host or Cleaner), chosen when you first open the app.
- Phone number, if you choose to add it.
- Country and currency. On first sign-in we estimate your country from your IP address using the ipapi.co or ipinfo.io service so prices and amounts show in your currency. You can change it in your profile.
- How you installed the app (Google Play install referrer), used to remember a cleaner invite link opened before installing.
2.3 Property information (Hosts)
Property and unit (room) names, type, address, map location (latitude and longitude), number of rooms, cleaning fee, inventory items (name, room, quantity, condition and notes), default cleaning checklists, descriptions and property photos you choose from your phone and upload.
2.4 Schedule and work information
- Schedules: property or unit, date, time, notes, cleaning fee, status (requested, accepted, declined, started, done, cancelled) and decline reasons.
- Checklist progress and notes written by the cleaner.
- Photos taken by the cleaner with the in-app camera as proof of work. Before upload, Hoscle resizes and compresses each photo and removes hidden photo information (EXIF metadata, including any GPS location and camera details stored in the image file).
- The date and time each photo was taken.
2.5 Location (Cleaners)
Hoscle reads the phone's location (GPS) only at two moments, and only while the app is open:
- when the cleaner taps Start on a schedule; and
- when the cleaner takes a checklist photo.
The location is saved with the schedule or with that photo's record (not inside the image file) so the host can confirm the work was done at the property. Hoscle does not track location in the background or at any other time. If you deny location permission, you can still start the cleaning and take photos; no location is saved.
2.6 Chat messages
On plans that include chat, hosts and their connected cleaners can send each other text messages. We store the message text, sender, recipient, the time it was sent and the time it was read (shown to the sender as "Seen"). Chat messages are not end-to-end encrypted; they are encrypted in transit and stored in our database like other app data.
2.7 Payment records between hosts and cleaners
Hoscle does not move money between hosts and cleaners. When a host marks a cleaning as paid, we record the amount (the cleaning fee), the method the host selects (Cash, GCash, Maya, Bank Transfer or Other), an optional reference number, and the dates it was marked paid and confirmed received. We never collect bank account, e-wallet login or card details.
2.8 Ratings and points
Star ratings (1 to 5) and comments hosts give for finished cleanings, and the points ledger (points earned, adjusted and redeemed, with the reason). For redemptions we also record the amount, method and reference the host enters; this money value is shown to the host only.
2.9 Cleaner invites
Invite codes and links a host creates, and who accepted them and when.
2.10 Subscription purchases (Hosts)
Subscriptions are bought through Google Play. We receive and store the product, order ID, purchase token, price, currency, billing period, status and expiry date from Google Play so we can activate and verify your plan and apply its limits and features. We never receive your card or other payment details; those are handled by Google.
2.11 Device, usage and diagnostic information
- A push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can send you notifications.
- App usage events (for example: signed in, created a schedule, completed a cleaning, reached a plan limit, opened the pricing screen) collected with PostHog and Google Firebase Analytics, together with device model, operating system, app version and an app instance identifier.
- The Android Advertising ID, used by Firebase Analytics to measure which campaigns bring new users. You can reset or delete it in your phone's Google settings.
- Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics): device and app state at the time of a crash.
2.12 What we do not access
We do not access your contacts, your microphone or your files. We access your photo gallery only when a host chooses property photos to upload, and the camera only when a cleaner takes a checklist photo. Reports you download are created on your phone and are not uploaded to us.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- Create and secure your account and let you sign in.
- Provide the service: properties, units, inventory, checklists, schedules, photos, location at Start and with photos, payment records, ratings, points, chat, invites, reports and notifications.
- Show each party what they need for a cleaning (see Section 4).
- Send notifications about schedules, payments, ratings, points, chat messages and your subscription.
- Process and verify subscriptions, renewals and cancellations with Google Play, apply plan limits and features, and detect fraudulent purchases.
- Show prices and amounts in your currency.
- Understand how the app is used, fix crashes and improve features.
- Respond to support requests and reports of misuse, and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
- Comply with legal obligations.
Our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (providing the app), your consent (for example location, camera and notifications, which you can withdraw in your phone settings), our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, analytics and improvement), and legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your photos, property details, schedules or chat messages for advertising. If we introduce advertising on the Free plan, we will update this Privacy Policy and ask for any consent the law requires before it starts.
4. What Hosts and Cleaners Can See About Each Other
Hoscle shares information only between a host and the cleaners connected to that host:
- A connected cleaner can see the host's name, email, phone (if added) and photo, and, for properties the host schedules them to, the property name, address, map location, photos, inventory (if included in the host's plan) and checklist.
- A host can see each connected cleaner's name, email, phone (if added) and photo, their schedules for that host, checklist progress, notes and photos, the location recorded at Start and with each photo, payment confirmations, and the cleaner's points with that host.
- In chat, both people can see the messages in their conversation and when they were read.
- Cleaners see their points only, not the money value the host assigns to points.
- Information a cleaner creates while working for one host is not shown to their other hosts.
When a cleaner leaves a host or is removed, both keep the history of cleanings and messages they had together, but the cleaner can no longer receive new schedules or messages from that host.
5. Who We Share Information With
We use the following service providers to run Hoscle. They process information on our behalf and only for these purposes:
- Supabase: database, file storage, authentication, real-time chat delivery and server functions (hosting of all app data, in Singapore).
- Google: Google Sign-In, Google Play Billing, Google Play in-app updates, Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications, including the title and a short preview of chat messages), Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics and Google Maps (showing property locations).
- PostHog: product analytics (United States).
- ipapi.co and ipinfo.io: one-time estimate of your country from your IP address.
We may also disclose information if required by law, court order or a government authority; to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, the public or Hoscle; or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you.
Some of these providers store data outside the Philippines (for example in Singapore, the United States or the European Union). We choose providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to Philippine law and use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
6. How We Protect Information
- All connections use encryption (HTTPS/TLS).
- Property photos and cleaning photos are stored in private storage. They are never public; the app shows them through temporary links that expire within one hour.
- Database access rules ensure each user can read only their own data and the data shared with them as described in Section 4. Chat messages can be read only by the two people in the conversation.
- Hidden photo metadata (including GPS location stored in the image file) is removed before photos are uploaded.
- Access to production systems is limited to authorized personnel.
No system is completely secure. If a personal data breach occurs that is likely to harm you, we will notify you and the National Privacy Commission as required by law.
7. How Long We Keep Information
- Cleaning photos: kept for a period that depends on the host's plan (currently 3 months on Free, 12 months on Premium and 24 months on Pro), then deleted automatically and permanently. If the host changes to a plan with a shorter period, older photos are deleted at the next nightly clean-up. The location saved with a photo is deleted with it. The schedule, checklist, payment and rating records are kept.
- Chat messages: kept while both the host's and the cleaner's accounts exist. They are deleted when either of them deletes their account.
- Everything else (profile, properties, units, inventory, property photos, checklists, schedules, payment records, ratings, points, invites and notifications): kept while your account is active.
- When you delete your account (Profile > Edit Profile > Delete Account), we delete your profile and the data linked to it, including the items listed above. Schedules and chat conversations are shared between a host and a cleaner, so when either of them deletes their account, the schedules, photos and messages between them are deleted too.
- Deleted data may remain in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before it is overwritten.
- Subscription purchase records may be kept longer where needed for tax, accounting or legal reasons.
- Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Cancel it in the Google Play Store first.
You can also request deletion by emailing support@hoscle.com or through the account deletion page at https://hoscle.com/delete-account.
8. Your Rights
Under the Data Privacy Act you have the right to:
- Be informed about how your personal information is processed.
- Access your personal information and receive a copy.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information (much of it you can edit in the app).
- Object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time (for example, turn off location, camera or notification permission in your phone settings).
- Have your information erased or blocked.
- Data portability: receive your information in a commonly used electronic format.
- Be compensated for damages caused by inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, false, unlawfully obtained or unauthorized use of personal information.
- File a complaint with the National Privacy Commission (www.privacy.gov.ph).
If you live outside the Philippines, you may have similar rights under your local law (for example the GDPR in the European Union and the United Kingdom, or privacy laws in Australia, the United States or India), including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
To exercise these rights, email support@hoscle.com. We may need to confirm your identity and will respond within the period required by law.
9. Children
Hoscle is not intended for anyone under 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Cleaning photos should show the work done, not people. Hosts and cleaners should avoid photographing guests, children or personal documents, and should not share other people's personal information in chat.
10. Third-Party Links and Services
The app may open third-party apps or sites (for example Google Maps for directions, the phone dialer, email, the share sheet when you share an invite, or the Google Play Store). Their own privacy policies apply.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will change the "Last Updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
